Looking to stay in Israel during the major Yom Tovim but fed up with having to face expensive high hotel prices and rip off apartment rentals, there’s now an alternative – book direct with owners of properties direct.
International travel website Wimdu has scores of Israeli properties which can pre-booked from one night onwards and which are offered at a fraction of the cost you would expect.
Recent offerings have included an oriental themed house with garden in Jerusalem for $200 a night during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur and a four room house in the centre of Tel Aviv that can sleep up to 12 for only $240 a night.
Like other peer to peer community sites, Wimdu allows users to rate properties and comment on their stays as well as providing an opportunity for owners to explain in full detail of what they are offering.
