Farewell Arnold “Red” Auerbach

Arnold Legendary basketball coach Arnold Auerbach has passed away at the age of 89.

Born 1917 in Brooklyn, New York, Auerbach is famed for his time with the Boston Celtics in the NBA where as coach between 1950 and 1966, he won a massive nine NBA titles. And from 1959 to 1966 won the title non-stop, a record still unbroken today.

Until his death on October 28, Auerbach was President of the team.

He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1968 and in 1979 he was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
