Jerry Springer has been forced to end his American radio show after being inundated with extra work.
Sixty-two-year-old Springer is attributing his career resurgence to an appearance on ABC’s reality TV series Dancing With The Stars. The star was a surprise hit, and has been flooded with work ever since being voted off the show in October.
Springer has a Budweiser commercial, a TV sitcom role and a movie part in the pipeline – and admits he doesn’t have the time to concentrate on his radio career.
“Radio is a full-time job, and I honestly don’t devote the time that I should to radio,” he says. “I can’t do the job if I’m not going to do it seriously.”
Springer’s Cincinnati-based radio talk show began in January last year and was syndicated to 53 stations across America.
