Actress Lisa Kudrow has hit out at Hollywood for creating a generation of badly behaved celebrities by pandering to their every need.
The former Friends star is shocked by the recent troubles of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton – but believes the problem lies with having too much power at a young age.
“It’s bad luck to be that successful that young. You can’t handle it. It’s a lot of power and responsibility they have, and it’s ruining them,” she said. “It doesn’t start off when you’re insisting on things. It starts off where you express a whim, and it’s delivered. And next thing you know, their trailer is filled with red M+Ms because someone is dying to please them.”
The 44-year-old deliberately avoids the limelight to protect her privacy and insists that if she can do it, other stars can too.
Kudrow adds: “I don’t go out. If you’re going to go out, there is a possibility and, depending on who you are, there is a probability that you’ll have your picture taken. For me, it’s a possibility. If you don’t feel up for that, don’t go out. You did sign up for it and you do have to understand that. If you’re going to go out in public, you have to behave.”
