Boris Johnson best known for mixing a career around being the editor of The Spectator, newspaper columnist, TV presenter and politician has finally been outed - as someone with Jewish origins.
The British MP for Henley, who was born in New York, counts on his Jewish background a Rabbi Mordecai Eliasberg, the Jewish Chronicle reported.
Other ancestors include a great-great-grandfather from Moscow who was a silk merchant.
But after a few generations, the Jewish links disappeared following a number of marriages to non-Jews.
When told of his kosher ancestry, Johnson said: “Although I am not Jewish, I am Jew-hyphen-ish.”
