Gay Porn Star Michael Lucas Takes A Stand For Israel

Published on January 12, 2007 with 2 Comments

Michael LucasGay Jewish porn star Michael Lucas has raised issue over the way a gay blog has described Israel by saying “people are tired of seeing Israel using its weapons” and has described him as “virulently pro-Israeli”.

Lucas, 34, who runs his own gay entertainment studio, took issue with Queerty over the way it commented on an interview the Russian-born entertainer did with Butt Magazine implying Israel is to blame for Middle East problems.

Last summer, Lucas made his fourth visit to Israel as part of a solidarity tour which included him performing an adult show for gay soldiers.

In a long interview in Butt which focused on Lucas’ views on a range of issues, the subject of Israel came up in which the interviewer asked “There seems to be so much wrong with Israeli society.”

Lucas replied: “Have you been there? It’s not complicated at all… Israel is the only free society in the Middle East. They treat women and gays like human beings, not like dogs. I really can’t stand how Europe has such a strange attitude toward Israel. I guess it’s because Europe always felt guilty for the Holocaust, so for Europe it’s a big relief to see Jews using weapons and defending themselves for the first time so that Europe can say, “Oh, great, they’re just like us.” I mean, come on. The Europeans hate us. What else could be the reason that they choose the side of the Arabs who have been throwing bombs on everybody for years and year and years?

The interviewer then said: “I don’t know. Why do you think that is?”

To which Lucas replied: “Because the world is not used to seeing a Jew as a strong man protecting his country with weapons.”

Commenting on the quote, Queerty wrote: “For our part, we think it’s because people are tired of seeing Israel using its weapons, but what do we know?”

An angry Lucas has since had an email exchange with Queerty editor Andrew Belonsky saying: “Now, by saying that the world is tired of Israel using its weapons, are you suggesting that Israel should not use them? Do you know that that would cause a massacre of every Israeli citizen? Do you understand that this is not some imagined fear? This is the state agenda of countries like Iran and Palestine.”

Lucas also took issue with Belonsky and his comments on how liberal Israel is towards the gay community.

“what do you mean Israel “may be” more liberal with regard to gay people? It’s absolutely liberal and even more liberal in aspects such as gays serving in the army than it is here in the US, there is no “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.”

For his part, Belonsky put in his response: “I think everyone’s tired of Israel using its weapons – whether they feel they’re justified or not. You can’t possibly say you’d like to see this war go on until the end of time, can you? Perhaps my statement was a bit one-sided, but it’s hardly as deep as all that.”

  1. The problem with the middle east and most other parts of the world lies with Religion in its entirety. The majority of Jews in the Zionist State are not even really Jewish except in name alone. They certainly aren’t living as Jews they don’t even follow the Torah. If they did not only would be being gay in the army out the question but the Jews would be obliged to kill gay people. It specifically says to do so in the Torah along with many other things that they don’t do from the Book of Leviticus. The fact is that the Jews couldn’t possibly expect to take back their land they lost in the Middle East without the Arabs that were already living their not getting upset. It would be like the Native American tribes taking back their land after just a few hundred years. Current Americans would be outraged. Why should the same thing not happen after 2000 years of absence from the land of Israel? It doesn’t matter that their non-existent ‘God’ figure supposedly gave it to them. Anyone can make such claims on behalf of their own ‘God’. They are creating conflict and knew from the get go it would create conflict and deserve whatever comes to them for being so arrogant as to think that they ‘deserve’ and have a ‘right’ to that land after such a long absence. As a matter of fact there are many Jews who agree that Israel shouldn’t exist as a country. Because being Jewish has nothing to do with where you live it has to do with HOW you live. To me religion itself is the worst thing that humanity ever heaped upon itself but politicized religion like through Zionism is even worse.

  2. I fully agree with Kenton’s reply. I would also like to add that the western countries, and especially the US do not support Israel because they believe it is on the right but because they need it as a base against the oil rich arabs. If it were not for the oil fields of the area, no country would support Israel in its policy of destroying teh native palestinian arabs. Why couldn’t we just have a nonsectarian, nonreligious state in the area, where all people living there would have equal rights and without either side practicing ethnic cleansing against the other side?
