Bob Dylan was inspired to take up songwriting after he read a verse by Scottish poet Robert Burns.
The folk legend was asked to name his greatest influence as part of a campaign to celebrate musical icons by record store HMV.
And he chooses a section of Burns’ classic poem A Red, Red Rose as the biggest inspiration of his career.

Hollywood hunk Zac Efron is baffled by his pin-up status - because he was such a nerd at school.
The High School Musical heart-throb was swamped by screaming girl fans at the premiere of the film franchise’s third installment in London this week.
And he admits he didn’t think he would turn out to be such a ladies’ man - because he was a geek in the classroom.

Actor Zac Efron is leaving his High School Musical days behind him to hit the books at a California university.
The 20 year old has reportedly signed up to study at the University of Southern California early next year.
Efron initially applied to the school in 2006, deferring his admission to focus on his acting career and the hit teen musical franchise, according to US magazine Star.

Actress Rachel Bilson has paid tribute to her late grandmother by designing clothes in her name.
The star has teamed up with DKNY Jeans to create an affordable collection called Edie Rose.
Bilson told Access Hollywood: “Everything is under $100 and I always say fashion doesn’t have to cost that much money, which is why I thought of it as a really good line to associate with and I just think that they are very relatable for young girls.”
Gouldman Disappointed By Lack Of Recognition

10cc rocker Graham Gouldman is disappointed his band is overshadowed by the success of rivals Queen and David Bowie - insisting they were just as prominent on the 1970s music scene.
The guitarist concedes it was the band’s image and lack of leadership which has left them out of the music magazines and polls.
