Sandler Thanks Irish Pub

Comedy star Adam Sandler was so impressed with a night out at an Irish pub, he wrote a note of thanks to the staff.

The Hollywood star was in Dublin last week for the premiere of his new comedy You Don’t Mess With The Zohan.

He popped into the Blarney Inn with friends for a meal and drinks - and left a handwritten letter of good wishes for the owner and staff.

David DuchovnyThe X-Files star David Duchovny has long campaigned for writers of the hit show to create an episode featuring animated characters from The Simpsons.

The actor and his co-star Gillian Anderson loaned their voices to the cartoon series for an X-Files-themed guest appearance in 1997.

And Duchovny is convinced that writers on the sci-fi show should have reciprocated and given the Simpson family a cameo role.

Woody AllenMoviemaker Woody Allen has been forced into honouring a promise to direct an opera - because he’s not dead.

The revered film mogul declined offers to take charge of an opera for years, while the head of Los Angeles Opera and Placido Domingo both urged Allen to reconsider.

So, to keep everyone happy, the 72-year-old bowed to the pressure three years ago, thinking he’d be dead before he would have to honour his promise.
