Paula Abdul has prompted rumours she is on the verge of cancelling her singing comeback - by axing two US TV performances.
American Idol judge Abdul was due to perform live on US morning show Today back in April, but pulled out. She rescheduled the gig for August, but has also cancelled that date, citing “other commitments”.

The X-Files star David Duchovny has confessed he believes in aliens - but he has no desire to go looking for them.
Duchovny is certain unidentified flying objects and extra-terrestrials do exist, but unlike his X-Files character Fox Mulder he has no urge to track them down.

British soccer ace David Beckham has been voted America’s favourite sports idol by the nation’s teenagers.
Beckham - who plays for Californian team LA Galaxy - was presented with the prestigious honour at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards which took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The event, which was hosted by Miley Cyrus, saw Beckham see off competition from American-born sport stars including New York Giants football star Eli Manning to land the coveted award.
