Nicole Richie’s ex-fiance Adam Goldstein has launched legal action against a New York newspaper over a story about the former couple’s break-up.

Goldstein - who goes under the moniker of DJ AM - proposed to the socialite in 2004 but the couple called off their engagement the following year.

Now the DJ is suing the New York Daily News for libel and invasion of privacy over a story about the split.

Comedienne Joan Rivers has been enlisted by business tycoon Donald Trump to take part in his hit US TV show The Celebrity Apprentice.

Rivers, 75, admits she has never seen the show - a spin-off of Trump’s The Apprentice - but is keen to work under the guidance of her new mentor.

She said: “I will be on Celebrity Apprentice… They are going to send me tapes.”

Actor Brian Austin Green has shot down rumours he will be returning to Beverly Hills, 90210 in the new spin-off series.

Filming is currently underway to bring the programme back to TV screens, with stars Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling among the actors reprising their original roles.
