Beloved music mogul Clive Davis is to step down as the CEO of the Sony BMG Music Group to mentor the label’s biggest names.

Davis, 76, will be replaced by Barry Weiss, who currently heads Sony’s Zomba Label Group.

In 50-plus years, Davis has become one of the most revered men in music - as well as founding Arista Records and J Records, the Hall of Fame mogul is also largely responsible for the careers of Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Whitney Houston.
