Jazz sogstress Amy Winehouse has suffered a major blow in her bid to conquer America after the organisers of a US charity event axed her performance.
The troubled 24-year-old was due to sing at a New York gala next month and had even been granted a business visa to travel to the US - unlike in February when she couldn’t pick up her five Grammy Awards in Los Angeles because the document wasn’t granted until the last minute.

Celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson is set to relaunch her defamation lawsuit against the celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton.
The sister of British producer Mark Ronson sued Hilton after he accused her of being the owner of cocaine found in Lindsay Lohan’s vehicle following the actress’ car accident in Los Angeles last May.
The case was thrown out of court in November and Ronson was ordered to pay Hilton almost $85,000.
