Winehouse Seeks US Visa

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was temporarily released from rehab on Monday - to apply for a US visa.
The Back To Black hitmaker left the London clinic for just a few hours to meet officials at the US Embassy.
She was accompanied by her father Mitch and a nurse, as the terms of her treatment mean she must remain under supervision at all times.

Actor Daniel Day-Lewis has slammed reports he is a recluse - insisting it is impossible for a father-of-two to stay indoors.
The 50-year-old has only made four films in the last decade - and has spent his time off at his remote home in Ireland, which he shares with his wife Rebecca Miller - a film director and the daughter of late playwright Arthur Miller - and their two sons, Ronan, nine, and Cashel, five.

Barry Manilow is planning a busy 2008 - he’s hitting the road and releasing two new albums.
The Copacabana singer refuses to slow down at the age of 64, and can’t wait to unleash his new material on his army of fans.
I’m releasing two new albums this year. One is the greatest hits of the 80s and the other is new material I’ve written,” he said.

Saxophonist Kenny G parted ways with label Arista Records after 25 years because he was tired of recording other artists’ music.
The jazz musician has been releasing albums of cover songs since 2002 - and decided to leave the firm in favour of specialist label Concord Records after executives refused to allow him to record his own compositions for his next LP.
