Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse is surviving rehab by watching movies featuring screen icon Marilyn Monroe.

The Back to Black hitmaker’s father, Mitch, says Winehouse’s love of the late actress is helping her through her daily battle with drugs.

“Amy is very ill and is suffering horrific withdrawal symptoms - shivering and constantly throwing up. Her body is expelling all the rubbish,” he said. “One thing helping Amy is her Marilyn Monroe films. Amy loves Some Like It Hot. She’s a huge fan of Monroe and thinks she’s wonderful.”

The Oscar winner was pounced upon by the paparazzi during a visit to Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital last week.

He said: “Nothing’s worse than an old Jew dating. You really think I could listen to somebody ask me, ‘What’s your sign?’ Absolutely not dating. I have grandchildren, dear friends, my show - that’s all I want.”
