Amy Winehouse’s second album Back To Black is set to be Britain’s biggest-selling record of the year.
The troubled star’s hit LP, released at the end of 2006, has now sold more than 1.5 million copies in the UK, achieving five platinum sales awards. The 24-year-old’s debut album, Frank, also sold 300,000 copies in the U.K. this year, despite being released in 2003.

Actor Shia LaBeouf is hoping his newfound Hollywood success will allow him to pay a movie tribute to his hero - a suicidal, drug-addicted rapper.
The 21-year-old, who is best known for recent blockbuster Transformers and upcoming sequel Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, wants to star in a biopic about controversial hip-hop star Cage.

Saxophonist Kenny G has become the latest star to sign a deal with coffee chain Starbucks’ record label offshoot.
His new album, a collection of Latin love songs, will be released by the label that earlier this year snagged Sir Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell in February.
The easy-listening star collaborated with leading Latin musicians on the album, titled Rhythm And Romance.

Singer/writer Kinky Friedman is set for a taste of what it really would be like to play the Governor of Texas in a new movie.
The satirist, who ran for the office as an Independent in 2006, will play the state Governor in an action packed western set in the late 1800s.
Shooting on Palo Pinto Gold is set to start in January. The film also features country stars Roy Clark and Mel Tillis and Trent Willmon.

American music mogul David Gest has been hospitalised in London after experiencing breathing problems.
Liza Minnelli’s ex-husband complained of chest pains in the early hours of Wednesday morning and was taken from his home in north London to a private hospital, where he was treated for his respiratory troubles.
A spokeswoman for the 54-year-old says: “David is stable and receiving the best medical attention. We are awaiting a further update from doctors.”

Preparations are underway for legendary rocker Bob Dylan to celebrate New Year’s Eve at his newly renovated Scottish mansion.
The 66-year-old singer/songwriter spent $4.4 million on Aultmore House in Nethy Bridge, Inverness-shire last year but had to wait for restoration work to be completed before he could move in.
The private estate, which is set in 25 acres of woodland, was a joint investment between Dylan and his brother David Zimmerman and the pair are finally ready to host their first Hogmanay party there at the close of this year.

Seventies US TV superstars Henry Winkler and Paul Michael Glaser have gone head-to-head onstage in Britain, playing the same character in rival pantomime productions.
Winkler, better known as The Fonz in Happy Days, and Starsky And Hutch actor Glaser are both starring as Captain Hook in two different Peter Pan Christmas shows.
Winkler is performing at the Victoria Theatre in Woking, Surrey, while Glaser is treading the boards of the Churchill Theatre in the London suburb of Bromley.

Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse has been released on bail following her arrest on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
The Rehab singer was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after voluntarily turning herself in at a police station in Shoreditch, London for questioning.
A police spokeswoman says: “A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries.”

Romantic crooner Harry Connick Jr. says he has spent his whole life around women.
Connick Jr., who is married to model Jill Goodacre and has three daughters, says, “I have so many women in my life, I wouldn’t know what to do with a guy. In fact I’m probably gay and I don’t even know it! My life is chick power. My manager is a woman, who has been with me since I’m 18, and my wife is a strong and intelligent woman. I have three daughters. My dogs are all females.”

Pamela Anderson and her husband Rick Salomon are divorcing after just two months of marriage.
The former Baywatch star filed legal papers for the dissolution of her marriage on Friday citing irreconcilable differences.
Anderson and her longtime friend Salomon wed in Las Vegas on 6 October.
Anderson has previously been married to rockers Tommy Lee and Kid Rock, while Salomon’s ex-wives are Elizabeth Daily and Shannen Doherty.

Amy Winehouse’s father has quashed newspaper reports that his troubled daughter is on suicide watch.
The Back To Black star is set to be quizzed by London’s Metropolitan Police over accusations she may have been involved in an alleged scheme to halt husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s trial for grievous bodily harm. He is currently on remand in Pentonville Prison for perverting the course of justice.

Actress Helena Bonham Carter and director Tim Burton have welcomed their second child.
The Golden Globe nominee, 41, gave birth to a girl in London on Saturday.
The baby is her second child with Burton, 49, - the couple already have a four-year-old son, Billy.
A spokesman for Bonham Carter tells People.com: “They are absolutely delighted they have a daughter. It’s a lovely Christmas present for the family.”

The bitter feud between music producer Mark Ronson and pop singer Lily Allen has finally been resolved.
The pair collaborated on Allen’s debut album Alright, Still as well as Ronson’s reworking of the Kaiser Chief’s Oh My God but reportedly fell out after the Smile hitmaker failed to attend the 32-year-old’s performance at BBC’s Electric Proms in October.
