Gest In Hospital

American music mogul David Gest has been hospitalised in London after experiencing breathing problems.

Liza Minnelli’s ex-husband complained of chest pains in the early hours of Wednesday morning and was taken from his home in north London to a private hospital, where he was treated for his respiratory troubles.

A spokeswoman for the 54-year-old says: “David is stable and receiving the best medical attention. We are awaiting a further update from doctors.”

Preparations are underway for legendary rocker Bob Dylan to celebrate New Year’s Eve at his newly renovated Scottish mansion.

The 66-year-old singer/songwriter spent $4.4 million on Aultmore House in Nethy Bridge, Inverness-shire last year but had to wait for restoration work to be completed before he could move in.

The private estate, which is set in 25 acres of woodland, was a joint investment between Dylan and his brother David Zimmerman and the pair are finally ready to host their first Hogmanay party there at the close of this year.

Seventies US TV superstars Henry Winkler and Paul Michael Glaser have gone head-to-head onstage in Britain, playing the same character in rival pantomime productions.

Winkler, better known as The Fonz in Happy Days, and Starsky And Hutch actor Glaser are both starring as Captain Hook in two different Peter Pan Christmas shows.

Winkler is performing at the Victoria Theatre in Woking, Surrey, while Glaser is treading the boards of the Churchill Theatre in the London suburb of Bromley.

Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse has been released on bail following her arrest on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

A police spokeswoman says: “A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries.”
