Stephen FryActor and writer Stephen Fry has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award at the British Comedy Awards.

The Jeeves & Wooster star was awarded the special gong at the ceremony in London last night while fellow Jewish star Simon Amstell also scooped an award for Comedy Entertainment Personality for his Nevermind The Buzzcocks TV show.

Amstell who took on the hosting role last year said: “Thanks to Mark Lamarr for leaving!”

Zac EfronHigh School Musical star Zac Efron is convinced his singing and dancing skills are useless - as they fail to impress the opposite sex.

The 20-year-old - who is dating his co-star Vanessa Hudgens - was never successful when he tried to woo women with his musical talents.

Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse has denied media accusations she is using drugs, after photos emerged of a suspicious substance in her car.

Several British tabloids printed pictures of a “bag of white stuff” in the boot of her vehicle on Tuesday, sparking further fears of a cocaine addiction.

But in a statement released by the singer, she explains the contents of the bag are “in fact the driver’s hand towels. Any implication or suggestion otherwise would be unfair.”

The star collaborated with Ronson on debut album Alright, Still, and sang on Ronson’s reworking of the Kaiser Chief’s Oh My God, but has failed to answer his phonecalls.

And Ronson is surprised the Smile star isn’t keen to work with him again.

Former The Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler has been honoured for her work as an ambassador for the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA).

The 26-year-old suffered from exercise bulimia in her late teens and has since spoken out about her experiences to help others struggling with eating disorders.

And last Thursday, Sigler was praised by NEDA for her efforts at an event in New York City.

Actress Natalie Portman has lavished praise on Sir Paul McCartney - branding him a “miracle person”.

The 26-year-old Star Wars star admits she thinks very highly of the Beatle, and insists he is unique.

She says: “He’s by far the finest human being. He’s a miracle of a person.”

Billy Joel says he had no intentions of becoming a rock star during his youth - because he hated the sound of his own voice.

The Grammy-winning star has sold over 150 million albums to date in his 43-year career, but admits it was never his ambition to be the one in the spotlight.
