Jagger Denies Kabbalah “Conversion”

Veteran Rocker Sir Mick Jagger has laughed off reports he is a Kabbalah follower.
The Rolling Stones frontman, 64, sparked rumours he had embraced Kabbalah by sporting a red wristband during a luncheon in London on Wednesday.
But Jagger insists the bracelet was a gift he received during a recent trip to Rajasthan, India.
He says: “If I wore a string vest would people think I’d suddenly become a Kabbalah convert? It’s rubbish.”

Woody Allen was so infatuated with Penelope Cruz on the set of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, he was reduced to a stuttering mess in her presence.

Sparks To Perform All 20 Albums

Eccentric pop siblings Sparks are to play each of their 20 albums in their entirety at 20 different shows in London in May and June, 2008.
All the shows will take place at the Islington Academy. The 21st and final concert will feature a performance of the group’s next album.

Dustin Hoffman perfected his role as a 243-year-old toy shop proprietor in Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium after his wife reminded him of an ‘ostrich-routine’ the actor performs.
The Rain Man star was struggling to develop his character’s quirks until his wife urged him to put his party trick on the big screen
He explains: “She was reading the script and she turned to me and said, ‘Do you remember the ostrich joke?’ Of course I did because it’s one of my favourite jokes, one of my mainstays.”

A source close to the set of the movie tells website iesb.com that Brody has landed the superhero part.
Leeds Gets Jewish Radio

The UK’s first full-time Jewish community radio station licence has been awarded to Radio Jcom in Leeds.
Ofcom, the organisation which grants permission to broadcast, has given the station an initial five year licence to be on medium wave to the local Jewish community.
It will be based at Leeds’ MAZCC Community Centre and apart from Saturday, will broadcast on-air 24 hours a day, six days a week.

Sharon Osbourne is selling off the wigs she wore following treatment for colon cancer as part of her rock family’s auction to help raise money charity.
The Los Angeles Osbournes sale will also feature husband’s Ozzy’s trademark wire-rim glasses and his red velvet robe, gowns Sharon and daughter Kelly have worn to various public events and a pair of bronze satyr heads that decorated the gates of the former Osbourne mansion in Beverly Hills.

Trumpeter Herb Alpert has donated $30 million to pay for a new music school at the University Of California, Los Angeles.
The music mogul gave the money to the university’s Los Angeles campus via his Herb Alpert Foundation.
The UCLA Herb Alpert School Of Music will combine the existing departments of ethnomusicology, music and musicology in the university’s converted Schoenberg Hall.

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse has pleaded with fans to send Blake Fielder-Civil red roses to show their support for her jailed husband.
The star sent a bouquet of flowers to her incarcerated partner at the weekend (17-18Nov07) to celebrate the couple’s six-month wedding anniversary, and urged fans at a gig in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday to follow her example.

Amy Winehouse’s mum has urged her to pull out of her UK tour - or risk “destroying” herself.
The Rehab singer was heckled onstage last Wednesday on the opening night of her tour in Birmingham, England, earning criticism from fans for her poor performance.
And mum Janis believes Winehouse should scrap her £1m series of dates altogether as she is “stressed out” after her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was jailed earlier this month.

Actress Natalie Portman is uncertain whether she’ll ever get married - at least not until homosexuals are allowed to wed.
The Closer star, who is dating fashion designer Nathan Bogle, hates the fact gay marriages remain illegal in America, with the exception of in Massachusetts and Wisconsin.
She tells American magazine InStyle: “I’m not convinced about marriage. Divorce is so easy, and that fact that gay people are not allowed to marry takes much of the meaning out of it. Committing yourself to one person is sacred.”

Former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar has ruled out starring in a movie adaptation of her hit TV show - because she finds the prospect too terrifying.
The series, which ran for six years, was originally adapted from the 1992 film of the same which starred Kristy Swanson in the title role - but Gellar insists she would never take part in a second big screen version.

Singer/songwriter Regina Spektor is “feeling much better” just days after collapsing before her scheduled performance in Nashville, Tennessee.
Spektor was forced to pull out of the concert at the Ryman Auditorium after a “severe inner-ear infection caused a sudden case of vertigo.”
According to her spokesman Steven Trachtenbroit, Spektor is recovering well after cancelling a second show on Thursday night.
He tells New York gossip column PageSix: “Regina is feeling much better.”

Amy Winehouse’s brother Alex has defended the troubled singer after she was heavily criticised for her performance on the opening night of her UK tour - insisting that “she’s only human”.
Alex Winehouse has backed his sister after her concert in Birmingham, England, was labelled a disaster when fans booed the star for forgetting her words, dropping her microphone and running off stage mid-way through the closing song.
