Abdul Quits Reality TV

American Idol judge Paula Abdul has vowed never to make another reality TV show after branding producers ‘manipulative’.

The 45-year-old singer accused bosses on her fly-on-the-wall series Hey Paula of tricking the audience and distorting the truth with clever editing.

Abdul now insists she will never allow the cameras back into her life.

Larry DavidLarry David has dismissed speculation his onscreen marital breakdown broadcast in the States in Sunday night’s episode of TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm deliberately mirrored his real life offscreen.

The comedian’s wife of 14 years, Laurie David, filed for divorce in July (07). The couple had announced their separation in June.

But David insists Sunday’s episode - in which his onscreen wife, played by Cheryl Hines, walked out on him - was just a “very weird” coincidence, adding he had written the scene long before his marriage disintegrated.

American Idol judge Paula Abdul has defended singer Lily Allen for cancelling a string of gigs in the US.

The singer, 45, believes Allen is too talented to be criticised for cancelling her US tour after encountering visa problems - which left her unable to enter America.

David GestMusic promoter David Gest has hit back at claims his ex-wife Liza Minnelli abused him, insisting he is “not a wimp”.

The 54-year-old, who filed a lawsuit in October 2003 claiming Minnelli regularly beat him, insists his time in the Australian jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! allowed him to prove his mettle.

Actress Halle Berry has been forced to issue a public apology after making an apparent anti-Semitic gaffe on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

During the taping for Friday’s show, the Oscar-winning star was showing Leno distorted images of herself on a computer, when she said: “Here’s where I look like my Jewish cousin!” as a picture of her with a large nose appeared.

The star, who is also an accomplished singer, admits she was asked by the star to appear on iconic 1984 album Purple Rain - but wasn’t prepared to swap her original moniker in exchange for singing stardom.

Comedienne Roseanne Barr has blasted Britney Spears’ parenting skills, branding her a “bad mother.”

The 54-year-old star has also criticised Spears’ mother Lynne for failing to stop the troubled singer’s party lifestyle.

Barr writes on her MySpace blog: “The judge is trying to teach you a lesson, shut your mouth and learn it! You are a bad mother, and so is your mother! Get your s**t together and take care of your kids. Your mom needs to lock your spoiled ass in the basement or wherever it is that you cannot get anymore drugs. Stop drinking immediately too.”

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has credited Scientology for making him a better comic.

The Seinfeld creator and star rarely talks about his connections to the controversial religion, but has opened up in a new magazine article.

He tells America’s Parade that a high school teacher turned him onto Scientology almost 30 years ago.

He says: “It was interesting. Believe it or not…it’s extremely intellectual and clinical in its approach to problem-solving, which really appealed to me.”

Troubled jazz songstress Amy Winehouse was celebrating her freedom after she was busted in Norway for marijuana possession - by downing glasses of champagne.

The Rehab star and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested by police in Bergen on Thursday night  - along with another unnamed person - after cops received a tip-off from staff at the Hotel Norge complaining about the smell of the drug coming from their suite.

Jon Stewart has signed a contract to extend his run as host of hit TV programme The Daily Show - quashing rumours the political satirist would take over Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show.

The 44-year-old’s contract was due to expire at the end of 2008 but FoxNews.com claims he has signed to remain with TV network Comedy Central until 2010.

Actor William Shatner has criticised director J.J. Abrams and the producers of the new Star Trek prequel - for not finding him a meaty role in the film.

Shatner, who played Captain James Kirk in the original Star Trek TV series and movies, has denied reports he’s set for a cameo in the new film.

He insists he wouldn’t take such a role even if it was offered to him, stating: “I don’t do cameos… I can’t imagine what I would do as a cameo.”

Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz has stunned fans after losing 60 pounds on a protein cookie diet.

The Mr. Jones singer, who dated Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston in his heyday, ballooned in recent years but decided to get in shape for a tour - and so took a pal’s advice and got fit.

His new regime includes protein cookies, one balanced meal a day and a strict exercise regimen.

British broadcaster Alan Coren has died. He was 69.

Coren died after a long battle with cancer on Thursday.

He was a regular panelist on BBC Radio 4’s satirical show The News Quiz, and also appeared as a team captain on TV programme Call My Bluff.

Coren leaves a wife and two children - Giles and Vicky - who are both successful broadcasters and journalists.

Actress Isla Fisher has given birth to a baby girl, according to reports in her native Australia.

The Wedding Crashers star, 31, and her funnyman fiance Sacha Baron Cohen are said to have welcomed their first child overnightin Los Angeles.

But a spokeswoman for Fisher’s agent Down Under, Shanahan Management, has refused to confirm or deny the reports.

The couple have been engaged since 2004 but have yet to set a date for their wedding.

Troubled jazz songstress Amy Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of possession and import of drugs in Bergen, Norway, according to reports.

The British singer, 24 - who is currently on tour in the Scandinavian country - was arrested along with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil at the Hotel Norge on Thursday night, and was taken into custody at 7pm local time.

Ronson, who has worked with stars Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse, teamed up with the singer on his 2006 album Rudebox, and talks are now underway for a follow-up collaboration.

The 22-year-old travelled to Sri Lanka and India with aid workers from international charity group Oxfam - and admits the highlight was the time she spent with kids at a Dalit school.

Barbra Streisand is recovering at her home in California after a nasty fall in her garden.

The superstar required stitches in her leg after the accident, which took place last week.

Her publicists are refusing to go into details about the accident, but confirm Streisand had the stitches removed this week and the injury was not serious.
