British broadcaster Alan Coren has died. He was 69.

Coren died after a long battle with cancer on Thursday.

He was a regular panelist on BBC Radio 4’s satirical show The News Quiz, and also appeared as a team captain on TV programme Call My Bluff.

Coren leaves a wife and two children - Giles and Vicky - who are both successful broadcasters and journalists.

Actress Isla Fisher has given birth to a baby girl, according to reports in her native Australia.

The Wedding Crashers star, 31, and her funnyman fiance Sacha Baron Cohen are said to have welcomed their first child overnightin Los Angeles.

But a spokeswoman for Fisher’s agent Down Under, Shanahan Management, has refused to confirm or deny the reports.

The couple have been engaged since 2004 but have yet to set a date for their wedding.

Troubled jazz songstress Amy Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of possession and import of drugs in Bergen, Norway, according to reports.

The British singer, 24 - who is currently on tour in the Scandinavian country - was arrested along with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil at the Hotel Norge on Thursday night, and was taken into custody at 7pm local time.

The 24-year-old had been hotly tipped to record the title track to the follow-up to Casino Royale - but 007 bosses have since changed their minds.

Longtime Bond soundtrack writers David Arnold and Don Black are now said to have approached Ville Valo, lead singer of metal band HIM, to record the theme instead.

Peres praises the singing diva’s rendition of Avinu Malkeinu and hopes the star will lend her talents to the planned festivities.

He also reveals the celebrations will include a special tribute to the United States.

The 84-year-old leader says: “It’s time to say thanks for being on our side”.
