Mercury Prize Jewish winner

Drummer Steffan Halperin is celebrating after his band The Klaxons scooped the prestigious Nationwide Mercury Prize for their album Myths Of The Near Future.
The 22-year-old Jewish musician only officially joined the band earlier this year following a former drummer leaving, though he did appear in early Klaxons videos and was previously the band’s live drummer.
The band have also been nominated for several top prizes at this year’s MTV Europe Awards, as well as the BT Digital Awards.
Nimoy Teaches Protege

Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy has been teaching protege Zachary Quinto how to play his legendary character Mr Spock, for the next installment of the sci-fi series.
The actors will play the Vulcan at different ages in Star Trek 8, due for release next year - and Heroes actor Quinto is determined to draw from Nimoy’s decades of experience in the role.
“Leonard is teaching me all about the role he has made his own,” he says.
