Amy WinehouseJazz songstress Amy Winehouse has been shortlisted for the prestigious Nationwide Mercury Prize.

Winehouse’s well received Back To Black album goes up against 10 other finalists including last year’s winner Arctic Monkeys and 2003 winner Dizzee Rascal.

“Amy is really grateful for all the support and interest she has had for the album and is pleased to be shortlisted,” said a spokesperson.

Steven SpielbergFilmmaker Steven Spielberg is facing legal action after the discovery he bought a painting that features on an FBI list of the most wanted stolen works of art.

The ET director is thought to have paid $200,000 in 1989 for Russian Schoolroom by U.S. artist Norman Rockwell - unaware it was stolen form a gallery in Missouri in 1973.

David DuchovnyX-Files star David Duchovny has appeased impatient fans of the show by promising they won’t have long to wait until a second big screen spin-off.

Earlier this year Duchovny - who played Agent Fox Mulder in both the cult TV series and 1998 movie - confirmed he and Gillian Anderson will team up for another movie version of the programme under the direction of Chris Carter.

Funnymen Adam Sandler and his acting pal Kevin James have taken their new movie to the leaders of US gay rights groups - to make sure the release wouldn’t be rocked by protests.

The two stars play fire fighters who pretend to be a gay couple so they can receive domestic partner benefits in I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry.
