Betting on Winehouse Turning Up For Gig

British bookmakers at gambling chain William Hill have started taking odds on whether jazz songstress Amy Winehouse will show up for future concerts after the “exhausted” Rehab singer cancelled three recent performances.
The bookies are offering 1/2 odds on Winehouse fulfilling her commitment to appear at the Eden Project in Cornwall on 17 July, according to Gigwise.com.

A packed crowd at London’s Comedy Store helped to raise over £8000 as part of a memorial event to remember Miriam ‘Mim’ Hyman, who was a victim of the London Bombings of July 7 2005.
Organised by friends and family to support the Miriam Hyman Memorial Fund which supports sight-saving charity Orbis UK and its work in the developing world, the comedy event saw performers including Mark Maier, Jon Culshaw, Simon Amstell and Marcus Brigstocke take to the stage.

American actress Rhea Perlman finds performing on London’s West End stage daunting compared to starring on hit TV show Cheers.
The star, who played Carla Tortelli in the sitcom, is currently starring in London production Boeing Boeing - but admits she finds the English capital “intimidating”.
“It’s scary when you first come over because it’s London. It’s a little intimidating,” she says. “But my family are slowly starting to come over to see me which has made me feel a little better.”
