Sir Philip GreenRetail tycoon Sir Philip Green is to give £1m a year over the next five years to Jewish Care.

The owner of high street stores Top Shop, Bhs and Burton previously gave a £4.5m donation to the charity in 2005.

The details of Green’s support for the charity came at its annual dinner which was hosted by BBC news presenter Natasha Kaplinsky.

Helena Bonham Carter loved her Harry Potter debut as scary witch Bella - because she likes to be evil.

Bonham Carter replaced actress Helen McCrory in the role of Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and the star admits she had no trouble accustoming to her character’s evil traits.

“Scary comes quite easily to me actually! You really scream and shout and it gets all the aggro out,” she says.

The Rehab hitmaker was set to play at the Aintree Pavilion in Liverpool on Wednesday, but pulled out of the gig five minutes before the doors opened, citing “exhaustion”.

Her spokesman said, “She’s played non-stop for six months and is tired.”

Silver Jews frontman David Berman has posted an advertisement on the cult band’s online bulletin board seeking a summer intern.

The Nashville, Tennessee-based singer and author is searching for a local administrative worker to help him with “a few different” Silver Jews projects.
