Business tycoon and TV reality show star Sir Alan Sugar has sold his electronics company Amstrad to media giant BSkyB for £125m.
Amstrad was founded by Sir Alan in the late 1960s and found success by selling cheap hi-fi equipment before moving into computers and satellite dishes during the 80s and 90s. Recent launches such as a home telephone with email facility proved to be less popular.

A campaign has been launched to have former Beatles manager Brian Epstein inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
Producer Martin Lewis has set up a petition on website brianepstein.com to have the Liverpool businessman posthumously honoured by the institution as it is a “travesty” Epstein has not received the honour before now.
Woody Allen’s new film Cassandra’s Dream will get a UK release, his spokesman has confirmed.
The drama, which stars Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as brothers, will not follow in the footsteps of the filmmaker’s 2005 cinematic offering Scoop - which failed to make British cinemas.
Cassandra’s Dream has received glowing reviews after a secret screening in Oviedo, Spain, last month, and the movie will officially premiere at the Venice film festival in August.

Sexy Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has landed the lead role in the biopic of one of the world’s biggest porn stars.
The 22-year-old Lost In Translation and Match Point actress was personally picked by Jenna Jameson, 33, to chart her transformation from ballet dancer to stripper, before becoming a millionaire adult film industry actress.
The movie is set for a late 2008 release from Universal Pictures and will be based on Jameson’s bestselling autobiography, How To Make Love Like A Porn Star.

Former music industry mogul Lord Levy could soon be returning back to his showbiz roots.
Having recently been cleared of any wrongdoing in the Cash For Honours affair, Lord Levy is said to be on the shortlist of a number of entertainment companies keen to use his music business skills.
In the 70s and 80s, Lord Levy ran Magnet Records, home to the likes of Alvin Stardust and Chris Rea, before selling to Warner Bros for a reputed £10m.

A real-life Mr Bean who is said to work as a museum assistant and collect teddy bears, and claims to speak Yiddish and Hebrew, is the latest Big Brother contestant.
Nebbish Jonty Stern, from London, is also said to enjoy spanking both men and women, and claims to be a 36-year-old virgin.
The balding boffin went into Big Brother’s ‘halfway house’ over the weekend, to compete for the chance to become a fully-fledged housemate.

The Wedding Crashers star who converted to Judaism, announced she has landed a $2m contract to become a comedy star at the launch of her new movie Hot Rod.
And the pregnant star has already begun dreaming up potential plots and comedic characters for the venture.

Heroes actor Zachary Qunito has been unveiled as the new Mr Spock in the forthcoming Star tREK prequel - and he’ll star alongside the original Leonard Nimoy.
The announcement was made at San Diego’s Comic-Con where Quinto appeared onstage with JJ Abrams, who will direct the new movie, which will chart the early years of the USS Enterprise’s crew.
The pair then welcomed Nimoy - a surprise guest - and revealed he will also appear in the movie.

Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg has threatened to leave his position as artistic director of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, unless China takes action against Sudan.
China is a major investor in the African country’s oil industry and has been criticised for failing to send United Nations peacekeeping troops to the troubled Darfur region.
The Chinese have also been accused of selling weapons to Sudan.

Kosher uber-producer Mark Ronson has spoken of his “honour” at becoming the first artist to receive Bob Dylan’s approval for a remix.
Ronson has created a hip-hop version of classic 1966 song Most Likely You’ll Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine) taken from Dylan’s album Blonde on Blonde, but still can’t believe he obtained permission from the folk-rock legend.

Indiana Jones IV star Shia LaBeouf was left awestruck when he first saw Harrison Ford dressed as the intrepid archaeologist.
Ford returns as Indy next year - 27 years after he first took the role in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Despite the fact Ford is now 65, LaBeouf - who plays his son in the new movie - insists he still has it: “The moment for me was watching him walk out of his trailer with the fedora on. Oh my god! It’s overwhelming.”

Frum reggae star Matisyahu has revealed that he is no longer involved with the Chabad-Lubavitch orthodox movement claiming “I don’t necessarily identify with it any more”.
In an interview with Miami New Times, Matisyahu revealed his journey from secular Jew to frum. He said: “My initial ties were through the Lubavitch sect… I went to a Hasidic school for two years in Brooklyn. At this point, I don’t necessarily identify with it any more. I’m really religious, but the more I’m learning about other types of Jews, I don’t want to exclude myself. I felt boxed in.”

Former The OC. star Adam Brody says he is bored with Hollywood.
The 27-year-old actor, who played comic geek Seth Cohen in the hit TV drama, has lived in California all his life, but admits his recent years in Tinseltown have left his striving for something new.
“I am feeling it right now,” he says. “I am just a little bored, I just want a change of scene. There isn’t anything specific… just the repetition.”

David Gest has slammed ITV over allegations he was fired, claiming he quit the channel to concentrate on other projects.
Liza Minnelli’s ex-husband signed a one-year contract with ITV after impressing producers with his appearance on British reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here last year.
Earlier this month Gest was reportedly dropped after The David Gest Show and Grease Is The Word struggled to attract viewers - but the star claims he severed ties with ITV due to other work commitments.
