Actress Helen Bonham-Carter insists she would have “divorced” boyfriend Tim Burton if he hadn’t cast her in his latest movie.
The Sixty Sixty star battled against 40 other actresses to land a part in the Burton-directed film Sweeney Todd which also stars Sacha Baron Cohen, but admits merging her work and personal life has taken its toll.
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has branded British pop star Lily Allen a “s**t spewer” following her negative remarks about the US.
Earlier this year, Allen called US President George Bush “an a**ehole and a c**t”, and referred to Americans as “backward” - and the Californian singer isn’t impressed with the young lady’s candid international commentary.
Screenwriter Bernard Gordon has died following a long battle with bone cancer. He was 88.
Gordon, who was born to Russian Jewish immigrants, was infamously blacklisted during US Senator Joe McCarthy’s anti-communist crusade in the 1950s, died at his home in Los Angeles on Friday.
He wrote the scripts for movies including 55 Days At Peking, The Thin Red Line and Battle Of The Bulge, but is perhaps best known in recent times for the protests he organised when director Elia Kazan accepted a Lifetime Achievement Oscar in 1999.
