Bryan FerryRoxy Music frontman and current Marks & Spencer model, Bryan Ferry, has apologised for comments he made in which he praised the German Nazi regime as “really beautiful” and “just amazing”.

The 61-year-old singer, who has recently released a Bob Dylan covers album told German newspaper Welt Am Sonntag: “My dear gentlemen, the Nazis knew how to put themselves in the limelight and present themselves. Leni Riefenstahl’s movies and Albert Speer’s buildings and the mass parades and the flags - just amazing. Really beautiful.”

The late great US TV comedienne Lucille Ball was among those honoured at the TV Land Awards in Santa Monica, California on Saturday.

TV shows The Brady Bunch and Taxi and 1970s miniseries Roots were also among the recipients of special mentions at the event, staged by the bosses of US cable channel TV Land.
