Sir Trev Gives Jewish Museum A Boost

Over 200 people attended a special dinner to mark the 75th anniversary of north west London’s Jewish Museum in which guests were encouraged to support its vital work in turning it into one of the best Jewish museums in the world.
The museum, which recently came under patronage of Prince Charles, hosted its dinner at Mansion House in the City of London in which legendary news anchor Sir Trevor McDonald gave a speech in which he talked about the war on Terror and journalism being vital in a democratic society.

Cardiff-born writer Dannie Abse has been shortlisted for a top Welsh literary award, the Roland Mathias Prize, for his collection of poems Running Late.
The prize, which is worth £2,000, is awarded to a work published in English by a Welsh writer over the past two years, either in poetry, short stories, literary criticism or Welsh history.
DiCaprio Held Peace Talks With Peres In Israel

Leonardo DiCaprio’s aides have confirmed the movie star held secret talks with Israel’s Vice Premier Shimon Peres during his chaotic trip to his girlfriend Bar Rafaeli’s homeland last week.
Peres, Israel’s former leader, requested a meeting with the Titanic star after learning of his visit, and asked the actor and activist to use his star power to help promote conservation and peace in the Middle East.
Death Of Director Rosenberg

Hollywood director Stuart Rosenberg has died of a heart attack at his home in Beverly Hills, California. He was 79.
The filmmaker, best known for Cool Hand Luke and The Amityville Horror, passed away last Thursday.
Rosenberg started his career in television, directing episodes of such classic TV shows as The Untouchables and The Twilight Zone.
