Beastie BoysNew York rappers The Beastie Boys are to play a second show at the Bestival music event on the Isle of Wight.

As well as headlining the festival on Saturday September 7, they will also play a special instrumental show the following day.

According to their website, the Boys are planning to stage several instrumental performances during their forthcoming summer tour.

A guitar belonging to the former T-Rex frontman Marc Bolan is among items which will be going under the hammer at an auction of pop memorabilia next month.

The 1970 Gibson Flying V electric guitar was used by Bolan on Top Of The Pops in 1972, when he performed the band’s chart-topping classic Get It On.

It is expected to fetch between £30,000-£50,000 in the sale, at London auction house Christie’s on April 26.

Henry GoodmanA new production of the classic Jewish musical Fiddler On The Roof will open in the West End in May.

Actor Henry Goodman – who had a short-lived run in the Broadway production of The Producers a few years back, - will star as long-suffering milkman Tevye in the production, which arrives in London fresh from a sell-out run at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre.

The Nanny Diaries - an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus - stars Johansson alongside Laura Linney, and the comedy was originally due for release next month.

Paul Simon is to be honoured by the US Library of Congress for his impressive catalogue of work.

The Simon And Garfunkel star will be the recipient of the first annual Gershwin Prize for Popular Song at a gala in May.

The newly-created honour will be given to a composer or performer whose lifetime contributions “exemplify the standard of excellence associated with (George and Ira) Gershwin.”

Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen and his long term Australian fiancee Isla Fisher are set to become first-time parents after blurting out the exciting news at a Los Angeles pub.

The Queen is set to pose for celebrated photographer Annie Leibovitz ahead of a May state visit to the United States.

The 80-year-old royal will be photographed by the 57-year-old at Buckingham Palace in London this week.

LottergirlsJewish rapper Princess Superstar has teamed up with a group of German musicians to form a new group.

The electro-fused Lottergirls, will release their debut EP, Bonfini, in May.

An album, Right On, will follow later in the year.

Princess Superstar, who was born Concetta Kirschner, is best known in the UK for the 2002 hit Bad Babysitter.

Matt LucasComedian Matt Lucas has hit the top of the UK charts with a charity version of the Proclaimers’ track I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).

The song sees Lucas, as Little Britain alter ego Andy Pipkin, teaming up with comedian Peter Kay as well as the Proclaimers.

All proceeds from the track go to Comic Relief.

Dame EdnaAussie chat show queen Dame Edna Everage has revealed she has a Jewish background.

In an interview with celebrity magazine Heat, the flamboyant alter ego of Barry Humphries said, in character, “I am partly Jewish.”

“With my background it was not spoken of, but I could play canaster without anyone teaching me, so I thought ‘well I must be Jewish!’ And I get on very well with North London people. I like the mix of scepticism and humour, and the intelligence of the average Red Sea pedestrian.”
