Everyone’s favourite Jewish hip hop artist Y-Love is having a birthday bash this coming Saturday night in Brooklyn.
Celebrating his 21st birthday (yet again!) at North Six, Y will be showcasing something old as well as something new and show his skills in blending English, Arabic, Yiddish, and Hebrew into the mix.
Born Yitz Jordan, Y is a frum black Jew from Baltimore who converted a few years.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has lavished praise on Asian movies, insisting they contain stronger female characters than those found in Hollywood films.
The Buffy The Vampire actress, who starred in the US remake of Asian horror film The Grudge, wishes American filmmakers would follow their lead and feature more tough roles for women in movies.
“I’ve always been fascinated with Asian movies. There are still only certain film genres where a woman can stand out and be heroic,” she says.
