Woody AllenToday, veteran filmmaker Woody Allen celebrates his 71st birthday.

The writer-director-actor, born Allen Konigsberg in Brooklyn, is as busy as ever, with his latest film Scoop, starring Scarlett Johansson. The film, about a journalism student in London, opened in the US in the summer but a UK release date has yet to be confirmed.

Abi Finley in BlondelNew Jewish acting talent Abi Finley has been getting rave reviews for her performance in Sir Time Rice’s update on his 1980s medieval rock opera Blondel.

The musical, which opened last week and runs until the end of the month, sees 23-year-old Mancunian Finley in the lead female role of Fiona, girlfriend of court minstrel Blondel.

Good For The JewsJust over a year ago, What I Like About Jew was a partnership of two Jewish comics Rob Tannenbaum and Sean Altman that looked set to go far.

But like other great Jewish double acts such as Jacob and Esau, Moses and Aaron and even Simon and Garfunkel there gets a point when the partnership fizzles out and What I Like About Jew is sadly no more.  But, Tannenbaum, is back with a new project and a new partner.
