BBC Jews Go To Israel

Tim FranksBBC TV news presenters Tim Franks and Katya Adler will be taking on new roles as they move from their current BBC jobs to working at the broadcasting giant’s Jerusalem bureau.

Franks moves from being a roving European Union correspondent, while Adler leaves Madrid for the Middle East.

Franks, who was born in Birmingham, joined the BBC in 1990.

Sir Alan SugarEveryone’s favourite loud mouth Jewish tycoon with a beard who runs Amstrad and is called Sir Alan, may still soon be offering his very own executive toy you can buy which utters phrases including “You’re Fired” from his successful TV show The Apprentice.

His other famous phrases from the TV series include: “I don’t like liars, I don’t like cheats, I don’t like bullshitters, I don’t like schmoozers and I don’t like arse-lickers.”

BarbraBarbra Streisand superfan Rosie O’Donnell thought she had died and gone to heaven when she was offered the chance to host the diva in her Miami, Florida home.

The Funny Girl’s assistant contacted the US TV star when hotel bookings for Streisand fell through earlier this week leaving the singer without a place to stay after her concert in the city.

Jewish Beauty Queen of Europe

Alexandra RosenfeldA Jewish beauty queen representing France has been crowned Miss Europe.

Alexandra Rosenfeld, 19, who won Miss France last year scooped the additional crown at a gala ceremony in the Ukrainian capital Kiev beating 33 other contestants. An international jury headed by legendary Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli choose Alexandra as Miss Europe.

Alexandra, who represents the Languedoc region wins 100,000 euros as well as a diamond crown said to be worth over 300,000 euros.

Swansea Film FestivalFor the first time ever, Swansea held its inaugural film festival in the summer.

And now, the organisers are looking to do it all over again next summer and are seeking Jewish filmmakers to be a part of it.

While, it’s most famous citizen Catherine Zeta-Jones was not around for 2006, there are rumours that Zeta-Jones and hubby Michael Douglas are considering making an appearance in the Welsh city.
