Gavin Rossdale’s mother has praised her son for his tennis skills - insisting the rocker is a very talented player.

The former Bush frontman was recently photographed enjoying British tennis tournament Wimbledon with his wife Gwen Stefani.

They were seen cheering on their close pal Roger Federer who went on to lose the final match to Rafael Nadal.

But Rossdale’s mum Lucy Stephan insists he is not happy just being a spectator and is actually very skillful with a racket - as he has a life-long obsession with the sport.

She said: “Gavin was a very keen player as a youngster. And as I am sure you are aware he still plays most days when he can.”
