Former Friends star David Schwimmer is still a hit with British ladies, even though he’s been off screens for a while. Presenting a comedy award at the National Television Awards in London, Schwimmer was subject to non-stop squeals and wolf whistles from adoring female fans.
He parodied himself by congratulating the winners before they had been announced, and telling them that they could end up like him – presenting awards and not being known for doing anything else.
Of course, since Friends ended he has been in demand as an actor, even making his debut in London’s West End, in the play Some Girls.
Schwimmer also joked that the applause and wolf whistles were from his mother.
The award went to Little Britain, which features David Walliams and gay Jewish comic Matt Lucas. Walliams called Schwimmer ‘delicious’ upon accepting the award, while Lucas gently poked fun in pronouncing the name ‘Schwimmer’.
The star will be back on cinema screens next month in the comedy thriller Big Nothing.
