Kevin Spacey and Jeff Goldblum will not appear in a Broadway version of their play Speed-The-Plow because they do not own the rights to the production in the U.S.

The actors are currently wowing audiences at London’s Old Vic Theatre, but Spacey will not be able to take the play to America - like he did with his stage production of A Moon for the Misbegotten - because the US rights are owned by the show’s producer Jeffery Richards.

A spokesman for the theatre said: “There is a production due on Broadway, but it’s separate from us. They got the rights in the U.S. and we got them in the U.K.”

Speed-The-Plow hits Broadway in November.
