David Schwimmer and Rachel Stevens are among Jewish stars being shortlisted to make it on to the next series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The British reality telly show, which is due to start on January 3, is known for getting both high profile celebrities as well as stars desperate for publicity.
As well as former S Club 7 star Stevens and ex-Friends star Schwimmer, film legend Dustin Hoffman, comedian David Baddiel and funnyman Jackie Mason are names Channel 4 TV bosses are willing to pay in excess of £100,000 to appear.
“There’s been a lot of brainstorming going on this year, and Channel 4 want the next series to have a celebrity glam factor, something that the last series lacked,” said an insider.
“They’re looking for some major names and David Schwimmer is high on the list as well as Dustin Hoffman and Jackie Mason. Channel 4 is serious about making this series the best yet.”
As well as fashion model and actress Caprice, previous Jewish celebs on the show have included Vanessa Feltz, Pete Burns and Jackie Stallone.

Lordy, does Schwimmer really have nothing better to do? As for Rachel, I’d love to see more of her these days, but she’s forever rumoured to be on reality shows, and she’s renowned for being quite private, and not showing much personality in interviews so I’m not sure it would be a very good move for her.
