Donna Karan is amazed she became a world famous fashion designer - because she was useless at fashion school.
The couturier was even told she had no hope of becoming a designer, after trashing outfits and flunking exams.
“I loved fashion. But I wasn’t a very good student. Failed typing, failed draping, you know,” she says. “I had a little ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) problem. Sewing? Oh forget it. I burnt my dress. They told me I would never make it as a fashion designer at all.”
And Karan admits she harbours another passion for food, adding: “I’m dying to have a restaurant.”
