Rafaeli Shuns Supermodel Title

Israeli model Bar Rafaeli has shunned the title “supermodel” given to her, insisting the term should only be used to describe the women for whom it was coined.
The on/off girlfriend of Leonardo DiCaprio maintains Elle Macpherson, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were the original supermodels in the 1990s, and the label should be reserved for them.
“I don’t even know what a supermodel is. Of course it’s nice, it’s very flattering, if people want to talk about me like that,” the 22-year-old says. “But to me, there will only be one group of girls who were supermodels. They were the product of a particular time. Now, there are so many girls who are kind of at the same level, and I’m one of them.”

Bar is definately not a supermodel and she’s definately not on their same level! If Bar weren’t dating Leo she wouldn’t be getting so much attention. It’s sad that there are prettier and more sincere Israeli models than Bar but she’s getting all the attention. It’s not fair. Bar should apologize to her fellow Israelis for insulting the country and them.
