English soccer star David Beckham could become a painter when he retires from the sporting industry, because he regrets giving up the hobby to become a world class soccer player instead.
The Real Madrid midfielder and his former pop star wife Victoria are keen art collectors, and are close friends of controversial British artist Damien Hirst.
The former Manchester United star also revealed he is a great fan of Jewish artist Julian Schnabel, the Sunday Mirror reports.
“If I hadn’t been a footballer it’s possible I could have become an artist. Perhaps I still will be. I really love drawing,” he says. ”Both me and Victoria really like art. We look for original works. In our house in England we have some pieces of great value.”
