Today, veteran filmmaker Woody Allen celebrates his 71st birthday.
The writer-director-actor, born Allen Konigsberg in Brooklyn, is as busy as ever, with his latest film Scoop, starring Scarlett Johansson. The film, about a journalism student in London, opened in the US in the summer but a UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
Allen is currently putting the finishing touches to his next London-based project, Cassandra’s Dream, which stars Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell. After that he’s next due to work on a film in Spain.
Despite his age, there seems to be no stopping Allen. His pedigree suggests he’ll be around for a while yet – his dad made it to the age of 101 and his mother, 94.
