The promoter of superstar Barbra Streisand’s ”sell-out” European tour in July is suing three agencies over thousands of seats that went unsold.
The tour, Streisand’s first in more than a decade, was much hyped, with ticket prices ranging from £75 to £600. It was claimed the demand for tickets was so great, they were being sold online for more than twice their face value.
But promoters AEG Live claim almost £1 million - worth of tickets went unsold. The company is suing agencies in the Netherlands, U.S. and U.K. for failing to pay compensation on unsold seats.
AEG has issued a writ in London’s High Court for £945,200 plus interest.
