Actor and director David Schwimmer was stunned when BBC TV chat show host Jonathan Ross revealed the former Friends star was voted the sexiest Jewish man alive according to Jewish dating site SomeoneJewish.com

When the Hollywood star was told, he modestly smiled and revealed that he was pleased to be considered in such esteem, though he did laugh when he pointed at the person below him coming in second was funnyman Woody Allen.

During the interview with Ross in which Schwimmer was with fellow actor Simon Pegg, details of their project, Run, Fat Boy, Run were revealed.

Schwimmer is directing the love story film and has spent four months in the UK and will be here well into the New Year.

“The last two years, I’ve been here more than anywhere else,” he said. “We have two more weeks of shooting and I’m here until April.”

Schwimmer also said that in the early 90s, he starred in a Steven Berkoff play, where he had to sound like an authentic Londoner. “I did cockney,” he proudly announced.

When it comes to what he misses from the US, Schwimmer says it is service. “The service here is different. I was waiter for seven years, so I know what good service is.”
