He may play a poor TV reporter from Kazakhstan, but funnyman Sacha Baron Cohen is laughing all the way to the bank.

Having proven that he can make millions for Hollywood , the London-born entertainer is set to pocket more than £10m next year following advance fees for his planned Bruno film, as well as other payments for starring in other productions – plus royalties from Borat’s DVD release and other licensed products including birthday cards.

A planned talking Borat doll, which says eight phrases including ‘Yagshemash’ and ‘The Jews are shifting their shapes’ is also set to go on sale in 2007.

“When Borat is released on DVD, it’s going to go straight to number one like you’ve never seen before,” an industry insider told Jewtastic. “DVD sales were massive with Sasha’s Ali G, but Ali G pales into insignificance when compared to the huge worldwide popularity of Borat.”

The DVD is set for release early next year, while Baron Cohen will shoot the Bruno movie in summer 2007. Prior to that, he is committed to starring in the film version of the Broadway musical Sweeney Todd, alongside Johnny Depp.
