Jazz songstress Amy Winehouse worried fans at a comeback gig in the UK by hitting herself repeatedly on the head with a microphone and walking off-stage midway through her final song.
The singer axed a string of concerts in her home country earlier this month citing “exhaustion” and was ordered by doctors to rest.
Despite performing again at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Tuesday, Winehouse’s bizarre behaviour during her set increased concerns for her health.
A fan tells tabloid the Daily Mirror, “Everyone thought Amy was acting rather strangely. She was wobbling around the stage, muttering to herself, swearing and slapping herself in the face. It was as though she was trying to snap herself out of something.”
However, a spokesperson for the star explains: “Amy was annoyed with herself. She is a bit ring-rusty after not having played for a while and was upset after making a few mistakes in the set.”
