Barbra StreisandBarbra Streisand made peace with her German fans in Berlin on Saturday night after overcoming resentment about the Holocaust.

The Jewish diva performed her first show in Germany at the Waldbuehne, where a sell-out crowd turned out to see the singer belt out her hits.

Streisand was overcome with emotion at the end of the concert, as she thanked her German fans for making the event so special.

“I still can’t believe it took me so long to come here,” she said. “Thank you for coming. Thank you for waiting. Thank you for being amazing. You’ve been a fantastic. I’ll never forget you.”

Streisand, 65, has turned down many invitations to perform in Germany, prompting Paul Spiegel, the late leader of the country’s Jewish community, to state the singer refused to perform there because of the Holocaust.
