Legendary old-school Jewish comic Sol Bernstein is back in London as part of the Spice Festival at the Hackney Empire on July 16.
The alter-ego of comic Steve Jameson, Bernstein hams it up pseudo American schlock style performing as a stereotypical Jewish comic with all the schmaltz you could ever want.
From gags about not understanding modern talk to his contribution to the rise of anti-Semitism, Bernstein covers all areas and nothing is off-topic for him.
Imagine a cross between Milton Berle, Phil Silvers and Jackie Mason, sounds like it couldn’t work, well Bernstein always gives it his best shot.
As well as Bernstein, the night features a number of other comics and musical performers.
