The man who once managed current Big Brother contestant Zachary ‘Ziggy’ Lichman when he was in boyband Northern Line is part of a consortium which has bought a string of radio stations including LBC, Heart and Galaxy from Chrysalis for £170m.

Ashley Tabor, 29, who is a director of Global Radio which also includes former ITV boss Charles Allen as chairman, is also the chief executive of Global Talent Group, an entertainment company that is responsible for creating the theme to X Factor as well as managing a range of artists including Corinne Bailey Rae.

The move sees Tabor return to radio. Previously he worked as a producer for Capital Radio in London.

Among the backers of Global Radio is Tabor’s father Michael, who made millions from horseracing.

Tabor, who was barmitzvah at West London Synagogue in 1990, has also managed other X-Factor acts including G4 and 2005 winner Shayne Ward.
