Veteran actor Paul Newman is donating $10 million to arts school Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.
The 82-year-old is a 1949 graduate of the academic establishment. He is handing over the money through his Newman Own Foundation to establish the single largest scholarship fund, which will benefit minorities and other underrepresented groups at the college.
“I owe Kenyon a great deal. I even started my first business - a laundry service - there, and I depended on that extra $60 a week,” he says.
