Singer turned actress Billie Piper has been confirmed to play an upscale Jewish prostitute in a TV series based on Belle de Jour.
The eight part TV show will be broadcast on ITV2.
Belle de Jour started life as a blog, and later was turned into a book after enjoying huge popularity on the web. A sequel, Further Adventures Of A London Call Girl, was published last year.
Her blog detailed sharing Jewish festivals with her family in the north of England.
Initially the drama was due to be made by Channel 4, but ITV is thought to have made a better offer to develop the show.
