Adam Brody as Seth Cohen wearing a YarmuclausHit US show The OC has been axed by its makers Fox after ratings plummeted to a new low.

When the show started in November 2003 around 10 million people tuned in every week to view the explots of the Cohen family, now it has an audience of just four million.

Creator Josh Schwartz said that the final episode, which will be seen in the US and UK next month, will “deliver real closure to the series”.

“It will be fun and emotional and I think really satisfying,” he added. “It is the finale we always planned to do.”

The show, set in Orange County, California, was noted for its Jewish characters as well as Jewish themes.

These included the celebrating of ‘Chrismukkah’ and Adam Brody as Seth Cohen wearing the ‘Yarmuclaus”, a Santa hat-yarmulke combo. This is available to buy at the official OC Insider.

  1. For millions of fans if the show ends it will be really sad and in part the end of an era. Some of us are really passionate about keeping the OC alive. With enough support I truly believe they will add another season. Don’t let the sun set on the O.C.!
